Hi there! Yeah today is officially Halloween day! I personally love dressing up and so does my daughter Khloé, who does not like?! For those of you who don't know the word Halloween means "hallowed evening" or "holy evening" and it came from the Scottish term : All Hallows' Eve (the evening before All Hallows' Day). The holiday is derived from the Church and , has always been a sensitive subject in terms of religion. Some have argued Halloween is a ritual for devil worship, trying to find evidence of animal or human sacrifice in ancient traditions associated with the holiday. However, for most countries specially in US, the holiday had become more like a "big party" where people dress up in all sort of costumes and kids go hunt for candy treats.
For some countries with a strong Catholic influence like for example Mexico, the holiday celebration is much closer to how the Ancients did, with visits to cemeteries to bless the graves and send prayers.
Apart from all the religious part of this holiday and the fun dress up part, maybe we could all get inspired by this concept and take some time to light a candle for all the lost we had this year, either originated from wars, natural disasters, suicides, homicides among other causes of dead and reflect upon our actions towards others in the world we live in. Recconect with your family ,friends, neighbours, colegues and people that surround you and be grateful to be alive!
Enjoy your Halloween Holidays!
