Brunch at Møller Kaffe & Køkken
Some might say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it certainly is at Møller Kaffe & Køkken where breakfast it’s the only thing on the menu, all day long up tis 4 in the afternoon, seven days a week. Brunches like these, only at Møller, indeed!
Reservations aren’t taken, so when I stopped by last Sunday together with a friend, people were lining up outside, waiting for tables, the café was busy, and we were told that the waiting time was one hour! Luckily we did not have to wait for that long and ended up waiting for 35 minutes instead, and it was totally worth the effort.
Owned and run by Andreas Møller, former head chef at Kanalen and The Standard’s Almanak, it’s breakfast fare taken to another level. Using fresh, organic ingredients, almost everything is homemade, from the freshly baked bread to the sausages. To drink, fresh juices, Copenhagen's Coffee Lab beans and microbrews.
Their concept is that you fill out the menu on your table, in which you can assemble your brunch plate to your specific wishes – whether you would like some eggs , sweet waffles and homemade chocolate spread, nuggets of free range chicken with mayo, avocado and grilled asparagus or yoghurt topped with muesli - and then you deliver it by the counter while you wait to be served. To be honest, it can be tough to choose between the ingredients seems carefully chosen as each small dish is presented separately on the menu, and served on the most beautiful pottery well displayed with green herbs and freshly picked strandportulak from Snekkersten .
The downside of this is that you might have to stand in line again at the counter just to order, and again if you want a refill of your coffee. Yeah, that is right you can refill your coffee as much as you would like if you order a refill combo.
The raw, minimalist decor adds a little sweetness and charm with a profusion of fresh flowers in vases and a menu with attitude. Definitely the place to hang out if you want to show that you know one of the best brunch places in town. However, It is not cheap to eat at Møller, but it is well beyond the ordinary and worth the experience as the Café's philosophy is based on a sustainable manifesto with organic ingredients carefully selected and served with delicate and beautiful plates display.
